Read Chapter 5 of “You Survived… Now What? A Road Map to Reclaiming Life” by Elizabeth Williams (Joy), MBA, LSW, LCDCIII (This should be your 2nd time reading this chapter)

Bathroom Break – Journal

  • Review the section titled “Set Realistic Expectations” on pages 129-130 and compose a journal entry outlining your expectations for your healing journey and discuss whether they are attainable and realistic. If not, what adjustments can you make?
  • Review the journal entries you composed completing Exercises 14-17 and compose a new entry outlining the progress you have made in making atmosphere adjustments. Include any challenges you may be having with discipline.  Outline your growth and positive experiences as well.

Trip Advice – Support Services

  • Hang Out With The Locals – Healing Exchange
    • Review content on pages 131-140 regarding the price of change. Share struggles you have experienced with changing with group members.
  • Read and Post Reviews – Support-Tank
    • Post in the “Progress Report” Topic Discussion (pg. 130)
      • Compose a post completing Exercise 20 (Your Brag Book) from the book. (pg. 130)
        • Read posts from other community members and provide encouragement by commenting.
    • Post in the “Self-Care” Topic Discussion (pg. 142)
      • Compose a post completing Exercise 21 (Your Self Care Plan) from the book. (pg. 146)  Review posts from other community members for help with ideas for self-care.

Gas Up – Professional Support

  • Coaching
    • Come to your coaching session prepared to review who you have identified as your support system. Bring questions you may have regarding whether a particular person is appropriate to include in your support system including struggles you may be having with NOT including someone whom you have been close to in the past. Refer to the journal entry you composed completing Exercise 12 to help you brainstorm.
    • If at any point during your participation in coaching services it is deemed that your needs are beyond the scope of life coaching, you will be referred to counseling services.
  • Counseling
    • If you are currently in counseling, continue to engage as directed. If your counselor is agreeable, speak with her/him regarding your support system. Bring questions you may have regarding whether a particular person is appropriate to include in your support system including struggles you may be having with NOT including someone whom you have been close to in the past. Refer to the journal entry you composed completing Exercise 12 to help you brainstorm.
